MAS3 Program Lead (Finance Reform Project)
- PMO Leadership Role
- Large Transformation Project
- Contract Role, City Location
Are you a seasoned PMO professional with experience leading a program office for large-scale enterprise transformations?
I am currently partnering with a key government client with an exciting contract opportunity for a Program Office Lead. This is a critical role within the Finance Reform Program (FRP), a major initiative focused on replacing the state government department's core Financial Management System (FMS).
About the Opportunity:
As the Program Office Lead, you will manage and lead the program office function to support the effective transition to and adoption of a contemporary financial management system (Oracle). Reporting directly to the Program Director, you will oversee key governance, scheduling, budget/forecast management, risk, and audit functions across multiple complex workstreams.
Key Responsibilities:
- PMO Leadership: Lead a dedicated team to deliver a high-quality program office function, including maintaining the comprehensive project plan, risk/issue registers, and status reporting for governance groups.
- Governance & Reporting: Manage and lead program governance forums, ensuring briefs and papers are delivered to a high quality and on time.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Support the Deployment Manager in developing, monitoring, and updating the deployment project schedule to manage timeline risks and dependencies.
- Risk & Compliance: Minimise program risk exposure through proactive reporting, escalation, and resolution of delivery issues.
- Documentation & Records: Oversee the development of critical program documentation and ensure accurate records are maintained in line with legislative guidelines
Ideally you will possess:
- Proven PMO Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading a high-quality program office function for large-scale, complex enterprise projects (ideally 5+ years in large/statewide programs).
- Exceptional Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to build strong collaborations, networks, and manage diverse stakeholder groups.
- Agility & Independence: Ability to work under broad direction, exercise sound independent judgment, and work with agility across competing and tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Technical & Process Excellence: Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency with the MS Office suite (experience with Jira and Confluence is highly advantageous).
- Change Management Aptitude: An organizational change management background or familiarity with system adoption frameworks would be highly advantageous.
